HAIR BY NICO IS A PROUD PRAVANA HAIR COLOR STUDIO

PRAVANA'S PHILOSOPHY

We as hair stylists, have transcended... Our craft has become more than just a series of salon services. Our method of servicing clients has evolved to a total or holistic approach to beauty. It is no longer about copying a style from a magazine. It's about creating personalized looks that enhance both the inner and outer beauty of our clients. Personality, lifestyle and daily routine are now as important as face shape, coloring and texture.

INTRODUCING PRAVANA

PRAVANA is proud to unveil a unique collection of highly sophisticated and professional products paired with enlightening education to guide you in your evolution of beauty. Even the name PRAVANA has an ancient Sanskrit meaning of "the source of all things." It all begins within ourselves.

PRAVANA realizes the world is not one color. This idea of globalization has been reflected in our products, ensuring they meet the diverse needs of our multi-textural clients. PRAVANA products are a unique hybrid of European artistry, ancient Mayan natural botanicals and innovative American technology. The end result... a global fusion of excellence.

PRESIDENT AND FOUNDER

Pravana International creator Steve Goddard is a 30-year veteran to the beauty industry. He began his long career as a way to support himself while attending college, and has gone on to work for some of today's largest companies in the beauty business.

Shortly after leaving school, Goddard joined Redken as the manager of its product evaluation salon, and climbed the ranks as a platform artist and later in the marketing department, where he was promoted to Senior Vice President of Marketing & Advertising. Shortly thereafter, Goddard became Senior Vice President of Global New Product Development of professional products for Revlon, relocating to Barcelona, Spain. In quick succession, he then became the General Manager of Rusk, a division of Conair, and in 1999, joined Wella Corporation as President and CEO. In 2001, Goddard became President and CEO of Sebastian International and President of Wella's worldwide Salon Conexxion division.

In 2004, Goddard returned to his creative marketing roots to launch a new beauty entity: Pravana International, a company dedicated to the development of Naturceutical TM hair care and color products for professional salons and spas. "I really wanted to return to the excitement of dealing with a small marketing company in creating new products," says Goddard.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I COME FOR A CUT?

MANY CLIENTS ASK THIS QUESTION:

You need to come to the studio
several times per year.
How often you get it cut
will depend on your budget
and of course on the style
of your hair.

A short haircut will stay in style
for a maximum of 4 to 6 weeks,
however my cuts are known
to last a bit longer say 7 to 8 weeks,
My all scissors precision cuts
will save you money between
regular visits.

When your hair is medium length,
you should come about every 6 weeks
and if you have long hair,
you'll need a trim every 7 weeks
to avoid split ends.

If you are letting your hair grow out,
in order to keep your hair healthy
I recommend coming in at least once in 12 weeks
to avoid split ends and keeping it
from looking awful!

NICO'S METHOD OF CUTTING

Nico practices the Vidal Sassoon method of precision cutting on all lengths of hair from which he's been able to take to a another level establishing his very own technique combining shape and texture. This is a personal signature cut that varies from any other, taking in consideration density, texture and length of hair, small scissors are used for all cutting and finishing techniques throughout the cut. thinning shears and straight razors are not used because they can undermine the integrity of precision cutting.
Precision Cuts
What does a “Precision Haircut” mean? Although it is not an exact science, the following haircutting elements will help you recognize a distinct precision haircut.

Precision Cuts Nico's Precision Haircutting Elements

# 3 – Precision haircuts are much easier to care for. they take less time to style. They look good no matter how much or little effort you put into them.

# 4 – The true test of a good haircut is that it looks good when it is growing out.
When you return for a trim it doesn’t look like you have gone months without a haircut.

# 5 – Precision haircutting is an art. It takes skill and finesse to create depth perception in a haircut. It also takes good eye-hand coordination. A good hair stylist has the ability to creatively visualize what hair style would positively suit you before they ever cut your hair.
